The famous 20th century mystic Edgar Cayce once said that

“Spirit is the source, Mind is the builder, and the Physical is the result”

Welcome to the Mind-Body-Spirit (MBS) blog focusing on all topics related to the Trilogy of Wellness! When the life force of spirit is joined with a clear mind and healthy body, we will be better able to understand the balanced relationship that defines our humanity.

So why do we need a balanced approach to wellness?

Because we don’t want to disconnect from our own well being by disregarding the essential MBS wholeness that keeps us all alive! Incorporating healthy, life-affirming habits into our personal lives through the MBS lens gives us the capacity to change unhealthy habits holistically that no longer serve us and embrace healthier ones. Remember we are ultimately the architects of our own lives! Only we can realize a healthier future for ourselves. With an interconnectedness that addresses the mental, physical, and spiritual aspect of the self, we can:• Break unhealthy behavior patterns• Heal emotional wounds• Improve communication skills• Increase a sense of well-being and self awareness• Learn skills to manage symptoms and self care• Learn how to take care of our bodies so then can take care of us.

The MBS research tells us that:

According to studies that incorporated the MBS approach to wellness, it was noted that traditional Western medicine often sees MBS as separate entities. In contrast, Eastern philosophies of Buddhism Taoism, and Chinese medicine are more prone to adopt a wholistic approach to an individual’s well being. A harmonious balance exists between “yin and yang”. Research studies in these areas show very positive intervention outcomes with significant improvements in physical and mental health along with an individual sense of control and support. The research findings in another study also suggest that MBS practice variables can become a consistent predictor of all health domains – physical, psychological, and spiritual.

What can we look forward to in the MBS content on this site?
